2026 HFK World Cup Donation Sorting Day

Date: June 28, 2026
Location: Moraga, California

Our HFK World Cup Donation Sorting Day was a success! Thank you to everyone who joined us for an afternoon of service, teamwork, and soccer.

Volunteers gathered at Moraga Valley Presbyterian Church (MVPC) to help reorganize and inventory the physical donations that will be used on HFK's upcoming International Service Trips. Throughout the event, participants worked together to organize all 74 duffel bags in our donation inventory while enjoying the Round of 32 World Cup match between South Africa and Canada.

The day began with HFK Executive Director Diego Ríos welcoming everyone and sharing the purpose of the event, before introducing Physical Donations Director Tomás Caminos, who explained the plan for the day and how the inventory process would work.

Note: On each of our International Service Trips, we ask participants to take duffle bags filled with physical donations for our partners. These donations are items we’ve gathered and/or items specifically requested by our partners. Some examples of requested donations have been lawn mower parts, tubs of peanut butter, weighted blankets for therapy sessions, specific sized soccer cleats for a team, and sports socks to complete a uniform!

Together, volunteers removed all 74 duffel bags from the storage room and lined them up in numerical order. Each volunteer was responsible for documenting several bags, recording important details such as the bag number, color, type, weight, and the types of donations inside. Once completed, Tomás entered all of the information into HFK's inventory spreadsheet, creating an updated record of every donation bag.

After every bag had been documented, volunteers returned the duffel bags to the storage room in their designated locations. They also added new signs throughout the storage space to identify the types of donations in each section, making it easier for future volunteers and trip leaders to quickly locate supplies when preparing for service trips.

After an afternoon of teamwork, all 74 donation bags were inventoried, reorganized, and returned to their proper places. The updated inventory and improved storage system will help HFK prepare more efficiently for future International Service Trips and ensure that donations are ready when they're needed most.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to help make this event possible! We're also grateful to our partner church, Moraga Valley Presbyterian Church (MVPC), for continuing to house our donations and provide a space for events like these.

Every act of service, big or small, helps us continue teaching the eternal joy of service.
