Reality SF Village Service Project

HFK and Reality SF have been Global Partners since January 2024. Throughout the years, this partnership has grown through meaningful events and service trips, such as:
This month, we added another collaborative event as we partnered with Reality’s Children’s Ministry, The Village, to host a hands-on service project for the kids. They helped assemble backpacks filled with school supplies that will be donated to kids we’ll serve on HFK’s upcoming service trips! Below is a recap of our service project.
With the help of Reality SF staff and volunteers, we began setting up the space so kids could easily go through the tables and grab the school supplies to place inside the backpacks. Two different group of kids would come through during Reality’s two morning services, so we planned accordingly.
We began our time with a biblical teaching on the wise men and their generosity in bringing gifts to Jesus. Then, Diego (our Executive Director) gave an engaging presentation that covered the Who, Why, Where, and What of HFK – and how our mission and today’s service project connects with that same spirit of generosity. After the teaching and presentation, the kids couldn’t wait to jump into action! The each grabbed a backpack and filled it with school supplies as directed by the volunteers.
In addition to the school supplies, each child got the opportunity to write and decorate a personalized note of encouragement and place it inside the backpack as a gift to the kids that will receive them.
We are grateful for The Village teacher volunteers who guided the kids and helped the project run smoothly. Some of them are HFK alumni from previous trips or events, and others are interested in staying involved and joining our next Reality trip!
Once all the backpacks were completed, we gathered for a time of reflection on generosity, shared more about the upcoming Reality & Friends Service Trip where the backpacks will be delivered, and prayed over them.
Thank you to everyone who supported and made this service project possible. Together, we packed around 80 backpacks and we look forward to serving our partners through this act of generosity which was made possible in partnership with Reality SF and the kids of The Village!
