Below are some important details about this upcoming trip.

Deadline to apply for this trip is January 19, 2026.

PARTNER SUPPORT

This team will serve the Roblealto Child Care Association as we learn about their ministry and the impact they have in their community. During our time together, team members will interact with the kids from the homes and the school, the ministry staff, the house parents, and the local community that our partner serves. We will also provide financial and physical support to further aid in their year-round ministry.

“Roblealto is a Christian, public welfare, non-profit organization that cares for the children of Costa Rica who are in critical situations and in need of specialized care and integrated services”. Serving with Roblealto may include moments of prayer, attending church, listening to Christian teachings & songs, and participating in other religious focused experiences.

Here is a short video about our partner and their mission. You can see our HFK teams at 1:48, 2:37, and 2:59!

While we partner with faith-based organizations, it is not a requirement to adhere to a specific religion or belief to join us. We strive to provide an equal opportunity to all individuals interested in our service trips, hoping that each life will be uniquely transformed. That being said, we ask each participant to be respectful of each other and of our partners, and to remain open to conversing about the things that make us different as well as the commonalities that bring us together.

SPECIAL INFO

This trip is designated for students of Liberty University as travel will take place during their 2026 Spring Break. Friends, family, or other university students are welcome to join!

This is a great opportunity for participants to discern God's calling for service in their lives and create life-long bonds while serving alongside like-minded people!

TEAM CAPTAINS

Your Team Captains for this trip will be Becca Hofheinz & Diana Guerrero-Nieto. Here is a message from them:

Hi! My name is Becca and this will be my third year in Costa Rica with HFK! I met HFK in my second year at Liberty in 2023 and immediately fell in love with the concept of serving kids in Latin America that they prioritize so heavily. I went to Costa Rica during my spring break that year, and have been back every year since.

I have been personally impacted by the stories that I have been blessed to hear, not only from the kids on site, but also by the testimonies of the families and staff whose lives have been changed for the better through the work of God in their lives.

Here For Kids provides such an amazing opportunity for participants to not only obey God's call to all of His kids to "go and make disciples" but also to "love the least of these" as unto Him. I have seen the way that God grows in and works through the teams to deepen the fellowship and bring glory to His name and it is wonderful to behold.

Last year, I was blessed to be able to meet my sweet friend and co-captain Diana on a trip that was both beautiful and made a lasting impact on my life. I can't wait to go back and hopefully bring you with us! I'm now in my last year at Liberty and wherever you are, I invite you to join us in serving the amazing children and families in Costa Rica!

Praying for you,
-Becca

Hola! I was born and raised in a small town called Four Oaks, North Carolina. I have been raised in a Christian household, and one of my lifelong dreams has been to go on mission trips—especially those focused on serving children. In the future, I also hope to participate in medical mission trips, as I share a strong passion for medicine. I have been a Sunday school teacher since I was about 13, and that ministry has always held a special place in my heart. Planting seeds of faith in young, curious minds brings me so much joy!

In 2025, I was blessed with the opportunity to serve on my first international mission trip to Costa Rica with HFK. The impact that Robelato left on my heart is what has inspired me to serve again—this time as a co-captain alongside Becca!

I am beyond excited to have you join us on this life-changing journey. Sharing this experience with others is such a powerful way to grow God’s kingdom and deepen our personal faith. This is a true leap of faith—one that allows us to serve His people and make a lasting difference in their lives.

Through building relationships with the communities we serve, we create lasting impacts that will continue to shine for years to come. These memories will remind us of our place in God’s kingdom and bring hope to those whose lives we touch.

With the love of sports, quality time, and physical service, we have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus—serving, loving, and giving in every way we can. I can’t wait to grow and serve together as a team, becoming like family as we share His love with others!
-Diana
