This trip offers an international service experience in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic.
Below are some important details about this upcoming trip.
Deadline to apply for this trip is February 8, 2026.
PARTNER SUPPORT
This team will serve Kids Alive International Dominican Republic as we learn about their ministry and the impact they have in their community. During our time together, team members will interact with the kids from the homes and the school, the ministry staff, the house parents, and the local community that our partner serves. We will also provide financial and physical support to further aid in their year-round ministry.
“Kids Alive International is a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of vulnerable children and families.” Serving with Kids Alive may include moments of prayer, attending Christian church services, listening to Bible teachings & worship, and participating in other religious focused experiences.
Here is a short video overview of our partner and their ministry all over the DR:
While we partner with faith-based organizations, it is not a requirement to adhere to a specific religion or belief to join us. We strive to provide an equal opportunity to all individuals interested in our service trips, hoping that each life will be uniquely transformed. That being said, we ask each participant to be respectful of each other and of our partners, and to remain open to conversing about the things that make us different as well as the commonalities that bring us together.
TEAM CAPTAINS
Your Team Captain for this trip will be Randy Farris & Dave Ricketts Here is a message from them:
I love the power of “YES!” Yes to opportunities for serving God! Yes to encouraging others and Yes to inviting others onto teams eager to serve. This has been my life since my first trip to Jarabacoa in 2003. I came on an invitation, never imagining that God would give me the opportunity to serve with, encourage and invite thousands of young adults to join teams that mutually transform not just the lives and communities of those we serve, but our lives too. God is at the center of all of these trips, and the transformation is a growing spirit in realizing and living out lives centered in Him. No Artificial Intelligence here. Rather, having real fun in real communities formed by God’s reality.
Prior to these God-adventures, I worked at St. Mary’s College (CA) as both soccer coach and faculty member. Then that first trip to Jarabacoa and my life’s focus shifted. Forming and leading hundreds of teams internationally that bring laughter and smiles to the faces of kids has been so purposeful, joyful and full of love. And now full-circle back to Jarabacoa and another adventure begins.
Looking forward to welcoming others to join in. God is good!
-RandyMy first trip to Jarabacoa was in 2014 when I went with my whole family for Thanksgiving week and that trip changed my family forever. It changed how we talked, what our priorities were and brought serving to the forefront on what we want to be about.
Since then, I have been back several times leading teams and my youngest son, who was 10 on his first trip has led 5 teams from his church over the past several years!
I am a pastor who is passionate about connecting with global partners as part of following Jesus and broadening our understanding of God's world and his mission in it. I currently serve as the co-pastor of San Clemente Presbyterian Church but was an Associate Pastor at Moraga Valley Pres for 19 years where Randy and I met and led several teams together. I also serve on the board for HFK and am excited to help others learn the eternal joy of service.
-Dave
