Below are some important details about this upcoming trip.
The last day to apply for this trip is May 24, 2027.
PARTNER SUPPORT
This team will serve our partner, COSDECOL as we learn about their ministry and the impact they have in their community. During our time together, team members will interact with the kids from the ministry, the staff, teachers, and coaches, and the local community that our partner serves. We will also provide financial and physical support to further aid in their year-round ministry.
“The mission of COSDECOL is to assist in building the physical, economic, social and spiritual welfare of the children and youth of Colombia. Through soccer programs for all ages, the CUSC presents a positive alternative to the difficult circumstances that surround so many of the young people we serve, develops the athletic abilities of youth, and shares the love of Christ.”
You can learn more about COSDECOL through this short video below. Click here if you want to see the full version.
While we partner with faith-based organizations, it is not a requirement to adhere to a specific religion or belief to join us. We strive to provide an equal opportunity to all individuals interested in our service trips, hoping that each life will be uniquely transformed. That being said, we ask each participant to be respectful of each other and of our partners, and to remain open to conversing about the things that make us different as well as the commonalities that bring us together.
SPECIAL INFO
As mentioned above, our partner ministry for this trip, COSDECOL has a strong focus on soccer. You can expect to spend plenty of time playing the game each day! You don’t need to be an experienced soccer player to join this team, but you should come ready and excited to get involved, have fun, and build relationships through the beautiful game.
TEAM CAPTAINS
Your Team Captains for this trip will be Allison Moen & Victoria Shimkus. Here is a message from them:
Hey everyone!
My name is Allison and I am so excited to be going back to Bello, Colombia next summer! HFK took our first trip to Bello in 2026 and I had the opportunity to be a Team Captain.
In Bello, we get to serve with a soccer ministry called COSDECOL. While serving we get to experience so much of the culture through visiting neighborhoods throughout Medellin,
This will be my second year as a Team Captain going to Bello.
-Allison
Hello and welcome!
My name is Vicki and I have been serving on teams with HFK since my first trip to Lima back in 2012. I like to stay involved with HFK because of the people. Each trip I have been on is so unique, and the relationships I've been able to build with team members, partner staff, and the children from the communities are what keep me coming back year after year. It's amazing how much you can learn from the people you meet and how those connections can last long after the trip is over!
Last year was my first trip to COSDECOL, our newest partner site in Colombia, and I am happy to be going back as one of the team captains on this trip!! Soccer has played a major role in my life which is why I loved the experience with COSDECOL. Our trip was packed with soccer and I look forward to having you on the team to connect both on and off the field!
-Vicki
