2026 HFK Retreat Recap
We recently wrapped up our 2026 HFK Retreat, bringing together our Board Members, Staff, and Team Captains for a weekend filled with connection, reflection, and celebration.
Throughout the 2025-2026 Service Season, HFK teams served alongside our partners in Mexico, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and Colombia. The retreat gave us the opportunity to look back on another meaningful year of service, celebrate the impact made across each of our trips, and recognize the dedication of everyone who helped make this season possible.

Friday
Friday served as a travel day for many of our HFK Retreat participants as Staff, Board Members, and Team Captains made their way to the Bay Area from across the country by both car and plane. ✈️
After arriving and dropping off their luggage, everyone headed to Oracle Park for a special evening with one of HFK’s newest partners, the San Francisco Giants! ⚾️🧡
Those who arrived early helped set up our HFK table in the stadium’s Community Clubhouse, where we had the opportunity to introduce Giants fans to HFK and share more about our mission. As the rest of our group arrived, everyone gathered at the table to catch up, pass out flyers, and connect with attendees before enjoying the game together.
One of the highlights of the evening was seeing HFK featured on the big screen at Oracle Park, giving thousands of fans the chance to learn a little more about our organization and the work we do! 💙💚
It was such a fun and meaningful way to kick off our Retreat weekend, reconnect with the HFK family, and celebrate this exciting new partnership.

Saturday
Saturday was spent surrounded by the serene beauty of the JBL Home Ranch, where HFK’s Board, Staff, and Team Captains came together for a full day of connection, reflection, and purpose. We’re incredibly grateful to our extended HFK Family for once again opening this special space to us and allowing us to gather here for our annual retreat. 💙🌞
The day began with meaningful conversations centered around HFK’s mission and the impact of the past year. Together, the group reflected on everything accomplished throughout the 2025–2026 Service Season, celebrated areas of growth, and looked ahead to what’s next for HFK.
In true HFK fashion, the afternoon brought some friendly competition with the Retreat Olympics - now in its fifth year! Attendees split into four teams, complete with creative team names and cheers, before competing in a series of games. After plenty of laughs and a little friendly rivalry, Team Mexico took home the gold! 🥇💚
Later in the day, HFK Staff shared annual department updates, giving everyone a look at the progress happening across different areas of the organization. Our Team Captains then shared highlights, personal stories, and favorite moments from their service trips over the past year. We also heard from our Global Ambassador, who gave an update on the work she has been doing in Costa Rica so far this year. 🌎
To close out the day, the group took time to write thank-you letters to our donors, sharing our gratitude along with stories of the impact made possible through their support. It was a meaningful way to reflect on the people and communities we’ve had the opportunity to serve this season across Mexico, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and Colombia. 🇲🇽 🇵🇪 🇩🇴 🇨🇷 🇨🇴 🙏
Sunday
This year, we hosted our 3rd Annual HFK Family Reunion once again at the beautiful Lafayette Reservoir! 💙✨
With many Board Members, Staff, and Team Captains in town, we were thrilled to welcome back HFK alumni, family, and friends for another wonderful day of connection and celebration.
We would love for you to join us next year - all are welcome!
We enjoyed an amazing weekend of fellowship with our HFK family in the Bay Area! It was a meaningful time to reflect on this past season and gather fresh inspiration for the upcoming service year.
