Tijuana, Mexico (Sep 2025) - Service Trip Recap

In just one weekend, our team made a meaningful impact in Tijuana. Partnering with Search Tijuana, the group helped build a new roof, supported camp activities, and distributed food and essential supplies to many in the community.
The time was short, but full of purpose - marked by service, connection, and shared experiences. We’re grateful for the opportunity to support and learn from the people of Tijuana.

Day 1
The team started the day with the team meeting up at the border. Once across, they met with our partner team to drive to the partner site to drop off their things and get ready for the first activity. 🚙🙌
Their first task of the day was to help build a roof for a family whose house had a leaking roof. Our team helped to clean up all the trash from the old roof and then to help our partners construct the new one. 🛠️🫶
After finishing the roof, they prepared 10 bags of food and essentials and visited 5 families in deep need. Each home carried heavy stories and real struggles. Grateful they could bring even a little light into their lives. 🙏💙
Day 2
This day, the team partnered with friends from Our Lady of Malibu to prepare and hand out food bags to over 400 people in need. 🙏
Later, they joined the Oblate Camp where they planned and led three fun activities for the campers. They even got to jump in and join them for a lively tug-of-war game. 💪🏅
They ended the night in the best way possible, with adoration and a bonfire, giving thanks and sharing in prayer together. 🕊️
Grateful for every moment, every smile, and every heart touched. 💙
Day 3
The morning started by attending the Liturgy of the Word. 📖
Afterwards, the team prepared their supplies and headed to Antorcha to set up activities for the kids of the community. At the field, they were able to run soccer games for the older kids while having activities like bubbles and jump ropes for the younger ones. ⚽️🫧
Then, they were able to hand out bags of school supplies and toys to the children that were in attendance. ✏️📚
They ended their day and the trip by returning to our partner site and sharing one last moment with friends from Mexico before heading back to the border and returning home. 🇲🇽🚙
As we reflect on this impactful weekend, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to every trip participant, volunteer, and donor who made this experience possible. Your willingness to step in, serve, and connect left a lasting mark - not only on the community in Tijuana, but on each other as well.
