This trip offers an international service experience in Constanza, Dominican Republic.
Below are some important details about this upcoming trip.
Deadline to apply for this trip is February 22, 2026.
PARTNER SUPPORT
This team will serve Kids Alive International Dominican Republic as we learn about their ministry and the impact they have in their community. During our time together, team members will interact with the kids from the homes and the school, the ministry staff, the house parents, and the local community that our partner serves. We will also provide financial and physical support to further aid in their year-round ministry.
“Kids Alive International is a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of vulnerable children and families.” Serving with Kids Alive may include moments of prayer, attending Christian church services, listening to Bible teachings & worship, and participating in other religious focused experiences.
Here is a short video overview of our partner and their ministry all over the DR:
While we partner with faith-based organizations, it is not a requirement to adhere to a specific religion or belief to join us. We strive to provide an equal opportunity to all individuals interested in our service trips, hoping that each life will be uniquely transformed. That being said, we ask each participant to be respectful of each other and of our partners, and to remain open to conversing about the things that make us different as well as the commonalities that bring us together.
TEAM CAPTAINS
Your Team Captain for this trip will be Rebecca Tse & Tracy Andermann. Here is a message from them:
Hi everyone! This is my second trip with HFK as a team captain and I could not be more excited. My first trip ever with HFK (and in short terms missions in general) was in May 2024 and although I didn't know what to expect, it made an even bigger impact in my life than I could have anticipated. I made friends for life, fueled a fire in my faith that I didn't know needed fueling, and changed my perspective on the world and how big our God is. Constanza in particular has captured my heart and I’m eagerly anticipating how the Lord will use our team to continue to serve Him there.
HFK's mission and vision of kids, sports, Latin America, and spreading the love of God and eternal joy of service align with a lot of my passions. I'm beyond thrilled to go on another trip, bringing others with me to also experience what God has in store for them through it!
-BeccaIf you’re looking to have a larger comfort zone, you have to step out to get there. Three years ago, I stepped outside of my small, Iowan comfort zone and went to Costa Rica with HFK for my first international service trip. I can honestly say that the experience changed my life, because the following year, I co-led a HFK trip to the Dominican Republic. While serving there, my heart felt like the Grinch’s heart that grew three sizes as I got to know the culture and the kids. Through the connections I made at the schools through teaching and playing sports, I knew I wanted to return.
That’s why I’m excited to co-lead with Becca and head back to the Dominican Republic in April. I’m excited to combine my passion for sports, kids, and God as we go and serve. Please step out with us for a sure-to-be life-changing experience as we serve together in the Dominican Republic!
-Tracy
