This trip offers an international service experience in Pucallpa, Peru.
Below are some important details about this upcoming trip.
Deadline to apply for this trip is March 8, 2026.
PARTNER SUPPORT
This team will serve Kids Alive International Peru as we learn about their ministry and the impact they have in their community. During our time together, team members will interact with the kids from the homes and the school, the ministry staff, the house parents, and the local community that our partner serves. We will also provide financial and physical support to further aid in their year-round ministry.
“Kids Alive International is a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of vulnerable children and families.” Serving with Kids Alive may include moments of prayer, attending Christian church services, listening to Bible teachings & worship, and participating in other religious focused experiences.
Here is a video highlighting one of our trips to Lima, Peru in 2025 – featuring our Team Captains for this trip, Liz and Miranda!
While we partner with faith-based organizations, it is not a requirement to adhere to a specific religion or belief to join us. We strive to provide an equal opportunity to all individuals interested in our service trips, hoping that each life will be uniquely transformed. That being said, we ask each participant to be respectful of each other and of our partners, and to remain open to conversing about the things that make us different as well as the commonalities that bring us together.
TEAM CAPTAINS
Your Team Captains for this trip will be Liz Soto & Miranda O’Brien. Here is a message from them:
Hi, my name is Liz and this is my 1st consecutive year coming back as Team Captain for Peru!
My time with Here For Kids goes back to my college days when they partnered with Saint Mary’s College (Go Gaels!) for Jan Term and we served for a month. I had the amazing opportunity to serve in the Dominican Republic and visit all the partner sites.
Life happens and I didn’t reconnect with HFK till 2022 when I went on my first Peru trip. Instant connection!
Since first serving in Peru in 2022, I have fallen in love with the country - the people, the food, the rich history, the culture. I’m excited to go back in 2026 and go on my 3rd Peru trip but my 1st exploring the jungle by serving the kids of Pucallpa.
I hope you consider joining us this year and get the amazing opportunity to experience a service trip firsthand - the deep joy of serving these kids and building community.
-LizHello to you & God bless you!
I’m Miranda and I was born in Bristol, Connecticut 21 years ago. When I was 6 years old, my parents decided to become full time missionaries in the Dominican Republic, where I then lived for 12 years. It was there that I was introduced to HFK through its founder and many past participants. When I turned 18, I moved back to the US for college and began my still ongoing internship with Here For Kids.
Despite the strong relationship I've always had with Here For Kids, it was only last year that I was able to go on my first service trip to Peru! I fell in love with the country, its culture, and people and upon my return, knew I had to be back soon.
I am so excited to co-lead on this trip with Liz & meet all of you!
-Miranda
